Day 2 of the Camino began early at 6 am. We walked 2.5 kilometers and stopped in a little grocery store for yogurt, fruit, and bought cheese and bread for lunch. A couple of kilometers later we stopped for coffee and met two lovely women from Holland. We shared stories of our aches and pains and questioned our sanity in thinking we could do the Camino.
And then the path turned rough again. The path was steep up and down mile after mile, my heart pounded, my face was red and Angie began getting a blister on her toes. We stopped for lunch in a steep hillside path, so that I could finally breath! There was a little wild kitty there that was so hungry. We fed her cheese and bread. We climbed the steep up and down hills till reaching Zibiri. By then we were totally spent. Our legs were rubbery.
We had to stay in a municipal alberque. Ang and I were proud about getting two bottom bunks until the hospitalier put a 250 pound man on top of me and the bed nearly broke. She said it was just fine but agreed to move the guy. I went to bed exhausted at 9 and fearful the bed would fall down.
