Pamploma to Zariquiegui: September 14, 2014
Today as I was walking I was thinking of my friend Kelli Walton. Not long ago I was sharing with her that I never really sweat when I have been walking in preparation for the Camino. Well Kelli I have discovered sweating!  Given the right combination of uphill climbing and hot sun has created the perfect conditions for me!

Today we slept in a bit and then had a lovely traditional Spanish breakfast at our Pension consisting of cafe con leche, potatoe and egg tart, a type of fried dough with sugar that is about 4 inches long and  a half inch in diameter.

The woman and daughter who run the restaurant helped us to find a "Mailboxes Etc" and  we were able  to send a number of our items on to Santiago to help lighten our loads. The gals who helped us there were  fabulous.  They are going to hold our package until we email them when we are a day or two from Santiago.  There is a saying on the Camino, "the Camino provides". That was true for us again today.

We walked in the hot sun this afternoon to an albergue  in Zariquiegui.  I love this name.  It reminds me of some of the Basque names and people from Idaho.  We love the place we are staying.  We are sharing a room with 3 women from Denmark who are having a girl's week. They are all about my age.  They are only walking about 10 kilometers a day, but having lots of fun in the process.

The albergue fed about 20 of us dinner.  It was yummy, but the company was even better. One of the women from Denmark, a man from Italy and Angie and I talked about the politics of immigration in each if out countries. The gentleman from Italy also shared with us the challenges he experiences with buying products from China for the department store he works for.  Then we had an interesting discussion about exports and imports.  It is great fun and very interesting sharing our days with people from all over the world.

I am pondering my lesson for the day.  I think it may be patience.  Don't push things, let them unfold.
